If you are in the middle of finding out that you have fleas in your home, it can be a very rude awakening. There is nothing like waking up to find clusters of flea bites all over your body to make you realize that you need a solution and you need one now.
Having fleas in your home can be tumultuous, but that doesn’t mean that you need to tear the place to pieces to treat your current flea problem. Today, we are going to walk you through the first steps that you need to take in the event that you find fleas in your home.
Check Your Pets
If in fact, you have pets in your house, you need to make sure that your furry friends weren’t the ones that brought the fleas in. Even if they didn’t, there is a potential that they could have picked up fleas from somewhere in or around the house. Make sure that you use a flea comb and the proper solution to comb your pets so that you can identify if they have fleas, and so that you are able to kill the fleas that are on them.
Keep in mind that combing your pets is just a temporary solution. If you really want to get rid of the fleas on your pets, then you are going to need to use a product like Frontline to get rid of them permanently.
Check Your House
As strange as it may sound, one of the best ways that you can check for fleas in your home is to put on some long, white socks (we recommend knee-high) and walk around the house. Fleas are actually drawn to that bright white color and will cling to your socks, helping you to identify the areas that they are hiding in.
Spray the House
There is a good chance that you are going to have to use some type of fogger or flea bomb for your home. This can be tedious and sometimes a dangerous task, which is why we would highly recommend calling in some professional help when you are working on getting rid of the fleas in your house.
